The full breast lift is a cosmetic surgery procedure intended to improve the look of the patient’s breasts by tightening and removing excess skin. The nipple is often times moved and or resized to provide the most aesthetically pleasing look to the patient. The difference between the full breast lift and the limited breast lift, also know as the modified breast lift, is that the full breast lift requires additional incisions. When a plastic surgeon performs a full breast lift, he or she will make three incisions. The first is around the nipple, the second will be vertically down the curve of the breast followed by the final incision under the natural fold of the breast. These create flaps which the surgeon can then remove and tighten any excess skin. The nipple is often repositioned or resized before the surgeon closes the open incisions. The extra incisions provide the surgeon with the ability to make larger modifications to the breasts.
The full breast lift is often done in conjunction with a breast enlargement in order to provide the patient with not only shapelier breasts but also ones larger in size. The recovery process for a full breast lift is usually 6 weeks although that can vary from patient to patient. The majority of pain and discomfort falls within the first couple of days after the operation. Typically the cost of a full breast lift is anywhere from $4,000-$10,000 depending on a number of factors including the surgeon, the individual patient needs and the location of the patient.
