Surgeon Description

Dr. Andrea Basile obtained his BS degree in Chemistry and French at Tufts University in 1985. He earned his M.D. degree in 1989 from the Georgetown University School of Medicine. He underwent training in general surgery from 1989-1992 at Harvard University / New England Deaconess Hospital. He continued his training in plastic surgery at Georgetown University Medical Center from 1994-1996. He served as Assistant Clinical Instructor in the Gross Anatomy Department at Harvard Medical School in 1993. He did Plastic Surgery research from 1992-1994 at Massachusetts General Hospital. He trained in surgery of the hand at USF Tampa from 1996-1997. He had additional training as an aesthetic surgery fellow with Ivo Pitanguy, a famed plastic surgeon in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. He served as Assistant Professor in Plastic Surgery at Boston University from 1997-2002. Dr Basile is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Medical Association, The Florida Medical Association, The Collier County Medical Society and the Florida Society of Plastic Surgery.
